Safety & Health Specialist – Data Analyst

The Safety & Health Specialist – Data Analyst will provide safety technical assistance and consultative services to assigned business units, make presentations of injury/illness prevention and safety educational material, and conduct incident investigations. The position will also manage corporate safety and training programs and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Computer Sciences or related
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Southern Company experience and/or 3 years’ experience working with data analytics
  • Ability to manage the Mississippi Power Safety and Health intranet page
  • Knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of programs and procedures
  • Experience with data manipulation (creating reports, trending data, pivot tables, etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive business relationships
  • Demonstrated outstanding oral and written communication and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop presentations and speak publicly to a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated safety leadership and ability to conceptualize and develop safety programs to meet the needs of customers
  • Strong planning, organizing, coordinating, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate and ensure behaviors consistent with Our Values and Principle-Centered Leadership
