Strategic Sales Account Manager

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Customer & Business Development, the Strategic Sales Account Manager will work with the Sales and Marketing Team to retain existing accounts, acquire new customers, support key initiatives, and set forth a sustainable growth strategy through the development of comprehensive business plans to increase Westafalia’s positioning within designated accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands customer base in North America focused on Foodservice and Retail
  • Meet with potential clients and grow long-lasting relationships by understanding their needs
  • Track, analyze, and communicate key quantitative metrics and business trends as they relate to partner relationships
  • Drive sales and secure new clients by developing sales strategies based on in-depth market research and analysis
  • Strengthen key client relationships by establishing and maintaining close communications aimed at identifying and responding to clients’ needs as they evolve
  • Manage a selection of highly valued retail customer accounts
  • Ensure growth in accordance with the Westfalia North American strategy over a short-, medium- and long-term position
  • Contact potential customers and sources of new business and developing plans to capture new business
  • Manage profitability and all financial KPI’s effectively
  • Forecasting and close liaison with key members of the team for accurate and timely data
  • Ability to understand high-level sales strategies, translate them into system and process requirements, and ensure local execution and business impact

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business related field
  • 5+ years in sales management
  • Proficiency in produce, customer service, growing the customer base, partnering with customers to be a solution partner to help grow their business/category
  • Proficiency creating reports, optimizing processes, and interpreting dashboards
  • Understanding of supply chain and business operations for fresh produce
  • Effective time management
  • Self-motivation and Continuous learning skills
  • Proven track record of success the sales cycle from plan to close
  • Experience working in an international dynamic environment
  • Good knowledge of the fruit value chain
  • Excellent negotiation skills and People leadership
  • Ability to translate strategies into plans that can be effectively executed
  • Ability to quickly analyze data and transform it into meaningful insights
  • Ability to pivot and find solutions to execute plans and meet KPIs
  • Excel and CRM familiarity
