We’re looking for an experienced Pre-sales Engineer to join our EMEA pre-sales team to support our sales initiatives across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). In this role, you will act as the trusted technical advisor working closely with clients & partners playing a pivotal role in driving the adoption of ABBYY technologies. Supporting the sales cycle by delivering high-impact technical demonstrations, solution architectures, and proof-of-concepts, aligning ABBYY’s portfolio with their business objectives and process challenges.
This position requires native-level fluency in German and strong English communication skills, given the need to collaborate both with local enterprise clients and internal global teams.
This role is ideal for a motivated and customer-centric professional with 3–5 years of experience in pre-sales or solution engineering, preferably in the enterprise software or automation space.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical advisor in the sales cycle, partnering with Account Executives to support opportunities across the DACH region.
- Conduct in-depth discovery sessions and workshops to understand customer business processes and identify areas for automation and digital transformation.
- Deliver persuasive product presentations and live demonstrations tailored to customer use cases.
- Lead the creation and execution of proof-of-concepts (POCs), pilots, and solution architecture that align with enterprise IT environments and business needs.
- Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and security/compliance questionnaires with clear, accurate, and compelling content.
- Collaborate with product, success managers, and professional services teams to ensure successful handoff post-sale.
- Develop & maintain subject matter expert (SME) knowledge of ABBYY’s solutions and products, in order to understand, document and demonstrate how ABBYY adds value.
- Provide technical assistance when required to partners and clients including troubleshooting solutions, developing projects and scripts in the context of ABBYY solutions.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in pre-sales, solution engineering, or technical consulting, ideally within enterprise software, automation, or content intelligence domains.
- Native-level German language proficiency is required; strong English skills are essential for internal and cross-regional collaboration.
- Proven experience in customer-facing roles with enterprise clients, particularly in complex or consultative sales environments.
- Exceptional written communication & presenting skills. This role requires an ability to understand and articulate both the business benefits (value proposition) and technical advantages of ABBYY products and solutions.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, SDKs, and enterprise IT architecture (ERP, ECM, BPM, RPA).
- Experience in JavaScript, C# .Net or other scripting languages
- Knowledge or experience with RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) or process automation tools is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills, a consultative mindset, and the ability to articulate business value in technical terms.
- Willingness to travel across the DACH region as required
- Able to work independently, as well as function well within a global remote team
- Resilience and ability to handle stressful situations effectively while managing several demanding tasks
