What You’ll Do
The Customer Marketing team cares about our customers and we want to set them free to do great work! We’re looking for a Customer Marketing Specialist to focus on email to join the team as we continue to work towards this vision, with a specific focus on customer retention.
As a crucial team member, you will play a vital role in driving customer retention, optimizing customer lifetime value (LTV), and reducing churn through running and optimizing all customer emails. You will be responsible for executing our retention strategies by driving B2B email programs across the entire customer journey. We need a marketer who has a strong passion for establishing connections between marketing initiatives and customer retention, while balancing an exceptional customer experience.
In this role, you will:
- Fully own the end-to-end email process, including the daily operations, creating briefs, conducting creative reviews, building HTML templates, and ensuring seamless deployment of emails through the email platform.
- Effectively manage and adhere to tight timelines, while ensuring the involvement and approval of key stakeholders throughout the review process.
- Conduct thorough analysis, perform continuous A/B testing, generate comprehensive reports, extract valuable insights, communicate key learnings, and consistently iterate and optimize key metrics such as open rate, click rate, and conversion rate.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in retention marketing to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Utilize marketing automation tools and CRM systems to manage and track customer communications and campaigns.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Customer Success, Customer Education, Product Marketing, and Content Marketing, to ensure email metrics are being met to support business goals.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- A degree in communications, marketing or related field
- 1-3 years of email marketing experience
- Strong understanding of email marketing best practices, audience segmentation, customer databases, A/B Testing
- You are highly organized and attention to detail is your bread and butter
- You have sharp written and verbal communication skills
- You are a self-starter and can handle multiple projects at once
- You have strong critical thinking skills
- You like to analyze data and tell a story from what you have learned
- You are available full-time (M-F 8-5 pm)
What will make us love you:
- Experience working with Stripo, Marketo, Salesforce, and Gainsight
- Experience with customer behavior-triggered emails
- Familiarity with email design and coding concepts (HTML, CSS, Sketch, Figma, Coda, Canva).
- You have examples or a portfolio ready to share
- You are and can be a super-responsive communicator across multiple platforms (Slack, email, etc.)
- You love to write and find communicating and creating content naturally
- You have a secret love for reviewing and editing content and other communications
