Sales Operations Team Lead (m/w/d)

As Sales Operations Lead (m/w/d) you are responsible for the seamless execution of sales processes and increasing operational efficiency to ensure business continuity. This role focuses on optimizing sales operations and their smooth implementation. You work closely with cross-functional teams to identify operational challenges, streamline processes, and implement solutions to increase productivity. With a strong focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement, you remain agile to meet business requirements in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Analysis of Sales Performance: Regular analysis of team performance against targets, provision of actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Process and Tool Implementation: Leading introduction of new processes, tools or systems within sales teams to ensure smooth transition with minimal disruption.
  • Operational Excellence and Escalation Management: Ensuring orderly workflow prioritization. Proactively escalating operational challenges before they impact customers, and serving as primary point of contact for the team on customer-related issues (delivery performance, contractual situations, complaints and claims).
  • Department Development and Professionalization: Active contribution to further professionalization of the department within and outside sales through initiation and implementation of relevant projects and improvements for the company.
  • Internal Collaboration and Team Development: Building bridges within teams and across departments. Serving as sparring partner for sales and supply chain teams. Promoting team qualification and development.
  • Reporting and KPI Monitoring: Creating and distributing reports and monitoring KPIs to support data-driven decision making.
  • Development of Service Standards: Supporting development of service procedures, policies, standards and tools to assist the team in their daily activities (and occasionally leading improvement projects).

Your Profile:

Education:

  • Preferably a Bachelor’s degree with strong commercial background and mindset.

Experience:

  • At least 5+ years of professional experience in a team-leading role, ideally in a comparable food and B2B environment.
  • Affinity for the food and raw materials industry.
  • Affinity/knowledge in export documentation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English.
  • Experience with MS Office and ideally also with Salesforce, SAP or similar ERP systems.
