What’s so great about working on Calendly’s Marketing team?
We show our prospective customers the value of our product and features in maximizing their most valuable asset…time.
Calendly, a remote-first company, continued to experience growth in 2023 — and 2024 is shaping up to be even better! We’re looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager who specializes in software-developer tools to join our incredible product-marketing team. While Calendly is used by millions of individuals and teams, third-party software developers also use our application programming interface (API) to build scheduling into their apps. This role focuses on growing our developer community while driving awareness and usage of our API and new features for our existing third party developer community.
Our ideal candidate will be a proactive product marketer who has owned PMM work for developer tools in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling software as a service (SaaS) company. Extra points if you’re experienced with both self-serve (freemium, credit-card growth) and salesperson-assisted business models.
You’ll join a collaborative team of product marketers who have years of experience handling product marketing for everyone from Asana and InVision to Fastly and Microsoft.
A day in the life of a Senior Product Marketing Manager, Developers at Calendly
On a typical day, you will be working on:
- Creating value-driven messaging that speaks to both the technical needs of developers and the business stakeholders in their companies
- Proactively engage with developers in our Calendly Community as well as third-party communities
- Finding the competitive advantage we have in our approach to working with developers when compared to competitors or “building in-house”
- Leading cross-functional product launches for developer tools and engage various stakeholders across the business to align on go-to-market plans
- Providing creative input on imagery and videos that support your campaigns
- Designing, supervising, and executing new product messaging, campaigns, and content across different channels such as email, webinars, and our website
- Write very proficiently — from technical documentation for our API with our product managers to feature stories celebrating developer wins
- Planning and prioritizing product marketing initiatives in conjunction with Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Enablement
What do we need from you?
- Previous experience marketing developer tools to developers, and experience building a developer marketing program from the ground up
- Ability to work from your home (we’re a remote-first company)
- Five to seven-plus years of related work experience, preferably some years in a startup environment
- Three-plus years in a Product Marketing or developer-marketing role
- Outstanding written communication skills: you love to communicate value in a plain-english, human way and have a defined process for yourself when it comes to drafting effective conversion-oriented copy (web copy, emails, headlines, etc.)
- Outstanding presentation skills: you are just as comfortable creating slides and presenting to a small group of executives as you are creating slides and facilitating a webinar with 2000-plus people.
- Critical thinking skills and experience weaving various ideas and threads into a single cohesive story or narrative
- Execution-oriented and can align with colleagues across multiple departments in a company with a high rate of change
- Experience in a content-heavy role; you’re comfortable creating initial collaborative drafts to spark creativity, lead a brainstorm, unblock a teammate or simply keep a project moving
- A right- and left-brained thinker; you’re as energized with a technical piece of content as you are with creative brand work
- Experience and comfort working cross functionally with sales, demand generation, customer success, product, engineering and leadership
- Passionate and proactive: a driven, self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
- Superior organizational and time management skills; excellent attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time
