Role Overview
The Data Analyst for PREP Allotment plays a key role in producing data insights for programs connected to the Prep Allotment, which are mandated from House Bill 2 passed in 89th legislative session. Reporting to the Director of Data and Research for the PREP Allotment, the person in this role writes SAS code to extract and transform data sets for delivery to external and internal clients.
What You Will Do
Design, develop, test, and execute SAS code to query, compile, and manipulate data required for PREP Allotment client units. Perform complex analysis on the relationships between data, build data visualizations, interpret findings, identify data patterns, and communicate results and key insights to respond to identified client unit(s).

Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
- At least three (3) years of experience in data analysis, research, compilation, and/or reporting work
- Knowledge of statistical procedures used in the analysis of data sets
- Skill with software & programming languages used for statistical analysis and database interaction, including SAS, SQL, and other applicable programming and statistical languages and packages
- Experience using Qualtrics to design surveys and the ability analyze findings based on responses
- Expertise in developing engaging visualizations of data using Business Intelligence software, PowerBI preferred
- Experience with designing, generating, and updating high-quality reports suitable for a range of audiences based on user requirements
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple work streams using project management techniques with general supervision
- Experience with analyzing systems and procedures to identify improvements to data production, data reporting, or data analytics
- Communicating clearly, effectively, and appropriately, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to compose, review, and edit technical documents
- Proficient at interpretation and application of guidelines, policies, procedures, laws, and regulations
- Experience with Texas education data preferred
- A desire to self-reflect, give & receive feedback, and continuously improve
- Experience in maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of individuals and groups
