About the Role
As Sales & Operations Lead, you’ll wear a few hats, and that’s what makes this role exciting. Your time will be split across leadership, sales development, client relationship management, project oversight, and health & safety.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the team
- Set clear expectations and provide regular, meaningful performance feedback
- Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members as the branch grows
- Foster a positive, accountable team culture focused on continuous improvement
- Work closely with leaders on scheduling, deployment, and team development
- Monitor workforce performance, retention, and employee satisfaction, and take action to improve outcomes
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the PEI client base and revenue
- Develop and execute a business development plan tied to regional growth targets
- Prepare and present proposals, estimates, and service offerings to prospective clients
- Get out in the community and attend industry events, networking functions, and local engagements to build the company’s brand in PEI
- Track your pipeline and report regularly on business development progress
Client Relationship Management
- Be the go-to person for key PEI clients, building trust, maintaining strong partnerships, and delivering on promises
- Conduct regular client check-ins to stay ahead of concerns and uncover new opportunities
- Manage contracts, change orders, and service agreements professionally and proactively
- Resolve issues quickly and keep clients informed with timely project updates
Project Oversight
- Oversee project execution from start to finish, on schedule, within budget, and to specification
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and monitor project expenditures
- Manage construction schedules, milestones, and risk mitigation
- Inspect work to ensure quality and conformity with plans and specifications
Health & Safety
- Ensure all sites comply with applicable health and safety legislation and company policies
- Audit project sites, investigate incidents, and ensure proper safety training is in place
- Lead by example when it comes to safety culture
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in the construction industry
- Proven leadership experience, ideally managing teams of 15+
- A track record of success in sales, business development, or client relationship management
- Excellent knowledge of construction trades
- Ability to read and interpret building drawings and designs
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with confidence in presenting to clients
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities
- Proficiency with business software (spreadsheets, word processing, project management tools)
