Summary of Role: The Managing Director is a client facing, fractional “Head of Sales”. You will be managing all things sales for 2 or 3 clients at any given point. You will be managing at least 1 rep on each account, and potentially up to 5. Your process, plan, and strategy will be what launches companies from $0 – $1M, and then $1M – $10M.

Responsibilities:

  • Own all plans and strategies for developing business and achieving your clients’ sales goals
  • Prepare sales / revenue forecasts and KPI reporting for the clients, and Darwinian Ventures upper management, for use in organizational planning, financial forecasting, budget setting and strategic planning
  • Lead generation: build, maintain and improve on omni-channel prospecting scripts (email, cold calling, LinkedIn, Video)
  • Deal closing: Build, maintain, and improve on mid and bottom funnel deal closing processes for clients
  • Complete understanding of all Top of Funnel, Mid-Funnel, and Bottom-of-Funnel metrics
  • Build, optimize, and maintain the CRM for your respective clients
  • Execute lead searches through various tools like Zoominfo, Apollo, crunchbase, and more
  • Evangelize your clients’ product and personally help close client deals
  • Build and report on product feedback, shortcomings, wins, to help define your clients product-market-fit
  • Provide full visibility into the sales pipeline at every stage of development
  • Coach and mentor the Darwinian Ventures individual contributors (sellers) that are staffed to you
  • Coach and mentor technical client CEOs / CTOs on how to “sell”
  • Build, manage, and approve client commissions for yourself and your Darwinian Ventures sales team
  • Maintain your book of business ($30k – $50k monthly) and try to upsell and grow accounts
  • Manage client commission contracts to ensure you and your staffed team gets paid promptly

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant SaaS sales experience (specifically SDR / AE)
  • 2-3 years of managing a team
  • CRM / Sales Engagement / Lead Database experience
  • Sales forecasting and reporting
  • Leadership skills
