About the Opportunity
The Senior Systems Consultant role forms part of an international team looking after operations of live Ellucian solution environments that are optimized to demonstrate our software’s value. The basis of Ellucian’s portfolio of products is the Experience platform of services. These are Ellucian development micro services that provide identity, security, user interface, workflow, integration, and configuration services that other modules of the Ellucian ecosystem rely on. This role will be primarily responsible for the management and configuration of this platform, as well as its integration into the overall solution. The live software environments are globally distributed and hosted in public Cloud infrastructure (AWS).
With a comprehensive set of modules that covers the entire student lifecycle at higher learning institutions, the successful consultant will have opportunity to expand their skill set and develop cross-industry technical certifications to advance their career.
Ellucian has a global presence in over 40 countries, and the Senior System Consultant role may occasionally be required to travel internationally for knowledge transfer and team events.
Where you will make an impact
The selected consultant will work closely with Ellucian’s global (USA, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific) pre-sales team to ensure that the configuration of the platform is suitable for the needs of users demonstrating the product.
They will report to the Director of Solution Consulting for International regions.
What you will bring
- Demonstrated experience working with ReactJS application, including development experience.
- A strong understanding of public Cloud infrastructure and SaaS deployment.
- Well-honed communication skills, working with teams across an organization.
- Ability to self-prioritize and manage stakeholder expectations in high-pressure environments.
- A strong understanding and experience with integration technology, e.g., REST web services, is critical.
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Self-directed team player.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal guidance, to achieve clearly articulated outcomes.
- Ability to focus on low-level detail, while maintaining an understanding of high-level goals.
Desired Skills/Knowledge/Experience
- Expected 3+ years of software development experience with ReactJS or other Javascript frameworks.
- A minimum of 1 year working with Amazon Web Services public cloud deployments, leveraging EC2, Lambda, and EBS.
- An AWS architect certification is desirable, but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal skills – both written and oral.
- Demonstrated understanding of Cloud technology concepts and experience with SaaS solutions.
- Experience with Ellucian solutions is desirable, but not mandatory.
