The Director, Sales and Business Development is a critical part of Evidation’s go to market approach, responsible for creating transformational collaborations with life sciences companies. These multi-year programs, generally oriented in therapeutic areas, are designed to unlock the value of everyday behavior data for real world evidence generation and innovative patient services. In this role, you will be directly responsible for growing our existing base of customers and identifying new opportunities within our existing customer set. You’ll be joining a team that delivers world-class, ground-breaking health research in partnership with our customers. This is made possible with our health research platform and delivery organization built to run decentralized research at scale, enabling us to build trust and lasting engagement with both participants and customers alike.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
- Build real empathy for our customers and their challenges
- Work consultatively with customers to help them understand how Evidation’s unique offering and experience enables transformational value
- Generate, pursue, and win strategic deals with life sciences companies, working from lead generation through close
- Iterate through options and proposals, develop pricing models, and be comfortable writing and redlining contracts
- Work through deal considerations in collaboration with colleagues from legal, finance, product, data science, health outcomes research, implementation/delivery, and others
- Synthesize a view of the market and customer needs that can serve as an input to colleagues in product and product marketing
- Track and analyze deals, continuously looking for opportunities to improve deal cycles or bring more efficiency to Evidation and its customers
- Up to 35% travel may be required
- Serve as customer escalation point for project concerns
- Collaborate with internal teams to manage customer expectations on project delivery
- Provide input on customer deliverables to ensure alignment with expectations set during sale
- Build new relationships and nurture existing customer relationship within assigned accounts
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
- 12+ years of experience working with or for life sciences companies, with a higher emphasis placed on the leading global biopharmaceutical firms
- Track record of developing, negotiating, and closing deals
- Strong understanding of the life sciences value chain, including clinical development, medical affairs, and commercial
- Strategy background that enables high value, consultative business development approaches
- Experience managing customer relationships
- Able to understand and communicate in the language of modern computer and data science (preferred)
- Experience working in a startup environment, or having worked directly with early stage, private companies on the “other side of the table” (preferred)

The US base hiring range for this full-time position is $140,000-$170,000 + commission + equity + benefits. The actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including work location, experience, training, and skill level, so pay for this role may be higher or lower than what is shown on this posting.
