About the Role

As the VP of Demand Generation for Fivetran, your primary responsibility will be to lead and manage a team of strong leaders and subject matter experts, including a global campaign team, customer acquisition team and marketing operations team. Your role will involve developing and executing strategies to generate demand and engagement with our target audiences, and drive customer acquisition and pipeline for the company’s data movement platform and products.

What You’ll Do

Strategy Development

  • Collaborate with the executive team to define the demand generation strategy and new customer acquisition strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives and target markets
  • This role will develop CAC and CPL strategy and budget guidelines for global teams, owning the playbook for how the teams maximize investment and results while continuing to maintain efficient spend

Leadership

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the teams that report to this role, ensuring effective coordination, communication, and goal alignment
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability
  • Develop and manage team goals, performance metrics, and professional development plans. Ensure that the team is equipped with the necessary skills, resources, and technology to support the company’s revenue growth goals

Team Development

  • Coach and develop team members, providing guidance, feedback, and support to enhance their skills, knowledge, and professional growth

Performance Tracking and Analysis

  • Monitor campaign performance metrics, lead generation activities, and customer acquisition efforts
  • Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for improvement, optimize campaigns, and achieve objective and key results (OKRs)

Collaboration and Alignment

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, product, and analytics, to ensure the demand generation efforts are aligned with sales goals and product messaging
  • Foster strong collaboration and communication channels across departments

Budget Management 

  • Develop and manage the demand generation and customer acquisition budget, allocating resources effectively to maximize campaign performance and return on investment (ROI)
  • Determine operations budget and the tool requirements needed for the team, including research, RFP development and selection and then working with marketing and systems team to manage deployment

Vendor and Agency Management

  • Collaborate with external vendors, agencies, and partners to leverage their expertise, resources, and technologies for enhanced demand generation outcomes

Overall, your role as the VP of Demand Generation will be crucial in driving the growth and success of Fivetran by building a strong demand generation function that drives new opportunities and pipeline for sales, acquires (at a cost effective CAC) new customers for the business and owns the top funnel, mid-funnel and conversion strategies that drive both self-service and sales-led go to market motions.

  • Will be a domain expert for both campaigns and customer acquisition

Key Selection Criteria

  • 10+ years experience in a high-growth SaaS company(ies) with a minimum of 5+ years proven experience in a senior marketing leadership role(s)
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth through operational efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and strategic planning
  • Strong working knowledge of Marketing systems, strategies, and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute campaigns and programs
  • Expert analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to effectively work collaboratively with global cross-functional teams, located throughout North America, EMEA and APAC
  • Leader who is thorough, organized and able to handle a wide range of complex issues, with the ability to articulate a vision, set of goals, and a game plan while  inspiring others to embrace and follow the plan
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong project management skills and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, such as building new processes and dismantling current processes that no longer fit
  • Strongly preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the target position and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, business need, market demands. This range represents base salary only and does not include incentive for sales roles, equity, or  benefits, if applicable. 

Pay Range

$300,000—$350,000 USD
