Senior Marketing Automation Engineer

Role Overview

Join the X-Channel Automation team as a Senior Marketing Automation Engineer, working with a cross-functional team to integrate AI-driven technologies and automation into Paid Marketing processes. The role involves developing tools and technologies for an internal group of 100+ people across Performance Marketing, Partnerships, and Retail. As a Senior, you will work with a high degree of autonomy, leading projects from broadly defined outcomes, and mentoring more junior engineers.

What You Will Do

Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex automation and AI projects, act as the primary technical point of contact for Paid Marketing stakeholders, architect and build AI-integrated workflows, develop scalable solutions in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, and design and implement integrations with marketing platforms.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering
• Strong full-stack proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation
• Demonstrated ability to gather requirements independently from non-technical stakeholders
• A credible communicator who tailors language and framing to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Proactive, autonomous, and solution-oriented
• Data-driven approach to prioritisation and decision-making
• Experience with marketing APIs (Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, etc.)
• Working knowledge of SQL and data tooling (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery)
• Experience mentoring or technically guiding more junior engineers
