Senior Data Scientist

Intact is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing team. The role involves designing and developing end-to-end AI solutions, leading AI projects, and collaborating with stakeholders to understand needs and convert them into scalable technical solutions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (computer science, mathematics, AI, engineering, or a related field)
• At least 5 years of experience in data science applications and product development, with a strong focus on NLP and machine learning
• Strong communication, leadership, mentorship, and AI project management skills
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), integrating with APIs, evaluation techniques, prompt engineering, and applying agentic system patterns (planning, tool-use/function calling, orchestration, and guardrails)
• Experience with developing, deploying, and maintaining software in cloud environments (strong preference for AWS); familiarity with building reliable LLM/NLP pipelines in production
• Multi-platform production experience with the following: Python, GitHub, AWS, and CI/CD tools
• Expert-level understanding of the underlying theory of machine learning and modern NLP/LLM techniques
• Demonstrated ability to structure and execute work in ambiguous problem spaces, defining hypotheses, success metrics, and iterating toward outcomes
• Product mindset with a track record of translating insights into user and business impact; proactive self-starter who identifies opportunities and takes initiative end-to-end
• Ability to collaborate with others and to coach junior members of staff; strong stakeholder communication across diverse backgrounds
