We are looking for an experienced Website Service Owner to take end-to-end responsibility for HESA’s public facing website(s), ensuring they deliver a high-quality, accessible and user-centred digital experience. This role combines strategic ownership and hands-on operational leadership, with responsibility for performance, governance, and continuous improvement across a critical national platform.
Requirements
- Experience in owning and improving websites or digital services from end to end
- Strong understanding of modern web platforms and content management systems
- Governance needed to keep services compliant, trusted and effective
- Confidence in applying accessibility standards, usability principles and user centred design
- Ability to turn analytics, performance data and user insight into meaningful improvements
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good grasp of SEO, digital analytics (such as GA4) and website performance optimisation
- Experience in higher education, the public sector or data driven organisations (nice to have)
- Familiarity with agile delivery methods and a degree of commercial awareness (nice to have)
- User-focused, evidence driven digital professional with a strong commitment to accessibility, inclusivity and ethical design
- Collaborative and influential, able to build trusted relationships and clearly communicate complex ideas
- Highly organised and proactive, able to thrive in complex environments and deliver at pace without losing attention to detail
