Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist (Assay Development Analytics)

Karius is seeking a Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist (Assay Development Analytics) to join their team. This role focuses on optimizing assay development by analyzing and optimizing new chemistries and lab techniques, particularly within genomics and AI-driven discovery. The position involves experimental design, data analysis, collaboration with Molecular Biology teams, and contributing to a company focused on improving diagnostic accuracy through microbial insights.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics, genetics, bioinformatics, metagenomics, or related field
• 3+ years of postdoctoral and/or industry experience
• Publications demonstrating innovative investigation and interpretation of biological data
• Proficiency with modern statistics and machine learning
• Proficiency with high-dimensional, large-scale datasets
• Demonstrated excellence in communication and collaboration
• Self-starter with the ability to independently drive results
• Experience with bioinformatics tools and approaches
• Familiarity with design of experiments (DOE) approaches
