Role Overview

As a Key Account Manager – Infectious Diseases, you will be responsible for building and developing strategic key accounts in the Secondary Care area and driving the national implementation of product and service strategies from Abbott forward in close cooperation with other business areas. The position will be located at our Cologne site (Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Germany GmbH) in the Infectious Disease area and will be responsible for the region of Augsburg, Munich, and Allgäu.

What You Will Do

Your tasks will include strategic development of markets and key accounts in the Secondary Care area to achieve sustainable sales targets for the ARDx product portfolio, control and implementation of sales strategies based on relevant KPIs, customer needs, and defined product and market concepts, and identification, analysis, and presentation of customer challenges and business opportunities to build and secure long-term, strategic partnerships of national importance.

Requirements

  • Completed studies in the natural sciences or equivalent; alternatively, a medical education or equivalent professional experience in the field of diagnostics or medical technology
  • Relevant professional experience in the sales of medical technology, diagnostics, or a comparable, regulated environment – ideally with a strategic customer focus
  • In-depth understanding of the Secondary Care market, including relevant market structures, decision-making processes, and key customers and procurement organizations
  • Demonstrated experience in building and developing long-term customer relationships at management and decision-maker level
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills and confident appearance in complex, national negotiation and decision-making processes
  • Structured, self-responsible, and resilient working style even in dynamic market situations
  • High problem-solving competence, customer orientation, and the ability to present complex issues in a clear and convincing manner
  • High team and stakeholder orientation, combined with a high degree of self-initiative, energy, and design will
  • Very good organizational, moderation, and presentation skills, even in national forums or cross-functional projects
  • Secure handling of Excel and PowerPoint for analysis, preparation, and presentation of sales and strategic content
  • High travel readiness (approx. 70-80%) within the sales area
  • Fluent German and very good English skills in writing and speaking
