Job Description

This role will be based in Sunnyvale, San Francisco or New York City.

We are actively seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to lead and drive partnership initiatives within our Consumer Business Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic evaluation, definition, and negotiation of new partnerships and partner programs. Additionally, you will play a key role in scaling our product initiatives and priorities as a key member of the product cross functional team.

Your primary focus will be identifying and establishing new pathways to support our mission and vision to connect the world’s professionals through experiences that make LinkedIn a core part of what it means to be a professional.

Your responsibilities will center on the information economy, ensuring Members have access to the relevant, professional knowledge, the work will span partner constructs with the leading voices in the premium content space, API/Integration partners that unlock workflows and/or data partnerships. These partnerships will focus on increasing the value we bring to Members within the dynamic consumer ecosystem in which we operate.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate partnership opportunities for LinkedIn. Lead the identification, testing, and presentation of plans to scale new initiatives across the Consumer and Enterprise ecosystem.
  • Collaborate across the organization to understand and influence strategic priorities.
  • Direct the activities of a dedicated partner manager.
  • Drive visibility within the organization for business development activities.
  • Synthesize deal concepts into term sheets and contracts, work closely with legal to draft agreements for partnerships and/or programs.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, including product, legal, marketing, and sales, to deliver on partnerships.
  • Track progress of existing partnerships and implement tracking and reporting for partner metrics.
  • Collaborate with product and corporate development counterparts to scope out opportunities.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of work experience in a business development, strategy, or partnership-related role within a technology company.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA degree.
  • Experience in a research or analytical role at an investment bank, consulting firm, corporate M&A or finance group from a related industry or corporate strategy group.
  • Strong financial analysis, modeling, and business skills. Ability to leverage data analysis and insights to develop compelling business cases.
  • Experience with product management and deal development – ability to understand legal contracts and negotiate deals with partners. Negotiation skills and experience working with Legal and cross-functional teams to finalize partnership agreements.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing strategies, programs, and partnerships that deliver value to customers and partners. Strong experience in influencing and engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders. Expertise in establishing and maintaining strategic partner relationships within LinkedIn’s marketplaces.
  • Understanding of the broader consumer tech landscape, including Creators/Content/Publishers and the technology solutions that support this ecosystem. Proficiency in staying updated on the latest regulations and policies impacting the tech sector.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and work within deadlines with little supervision.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.

The pay range for this role is $166,000 to $270,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
