Position Overview
Loudoun United FC is seeking a visionary and results-driven Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to lead the club’s commercial operations into its next era of growth. As the primary architect of the club’s financial sustainability, you will oversee all income-generating departments, with a heavy emphasis on ticketing operations, season memberships, and group sales. You will be responsible for maximizing the commercial potential of Segra Field, ensuring that every matchday is a sell-out success while simultaneously scaling corporate partnerships, brand marketing, and fan engagement initiatives.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Ticketing & Hospitality (Primary Focus)
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Direct the ticketing department to achieve aggressive revenue targets for Season Memberships, Mini-Plans, and Premium Seating.
- Group Sales Engine: Develop and execute a robust group sales strategy targeting Northern Virginia’s massive youth soccer market (550,000+ players in the DMV) and corporate outings.
- Data-Driven Pricing: Implement dynamic pricing models and inventory management systems to maximize “per-cap” revenue and stadium yield.
- Retention Excellence: Oversee the “Fan First” service model to ensure high renewal rates for season ticket holders through year-round engagement.
- Corporate Partnerships & Brand Engagement
- Sponsorship Acquisition: Drive the sales of high-value assets, including Kit (Jersey) sponsorships, stadium naming rights, and digital/broadcast integrations.
- B2B Ecosystem: Leverage Loudoun County’s status as a top-tier business hub to create “Purpose-Driven Partnerships” that go beyond static signage.
- Activation: Work with the Director of Partnerships to ensure 100% fulfillment of sponsor assets, focusing on experiential activations (e.g., Beer Garden, Fan Zones).
- Marketing & Fan Engagement Collaboration
- Revenue-Marketing Alignment: Lead the marketing team to ensure all campaigns (digital, social, and traditional) are directly feeding the ticketing and partnership funnels.
- The “Game-Day” Product: Partner with Matchday Operations to refine the “insanely great” fan experience, ensuring that entertainment and atmosphere translate into repeat ticket purchases.
- Community Presence: Oversee the club’s community ambassador programs to increase “walking billboards” (merchandise sales) and brand awareness across Leesburg and the wider DMV area.
- Executive Leadership & Strategy
- Expansion Initiatives: Scale revenue streams for the new USL W League team and youth academy programs.
- Budget Oversight: Manage the full P&L for the commercial side of the club, providing weekly reporting to ownership on sales pipelines and forecasting.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience: 10+ years of senior leadership in sports/entertainment, with a proven track record of scaling a ticketing department.
- Local Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Northern Virginia/Loudoun County market is a significant plus.
- Tech Savvy: Expert-level knowledge of ticketing CRM platforms (e.g., Ticketmaster, SeatGeek) and sales software (Salesforce/HubSpot).
- Communication: A “closer” who can transition seamlessly from pitching a local small business to negotiating with Fortune 500 tech companies in Ashburn’s “Data Center Alley.”
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, or Marketing (MBA preferred).
- Ability to work all 17+ home matches, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
