Chicago, Illinois, ATIA is seeking a Marketing and Communications manager to drive our brand, programs, and messaging forward to meet our broad set of goals as an organization.  This individual’s efforts will be focused on traditional email, print and web marketing with an ever-growing social media presence. This role requires an individual that can multi-task, project manage and execute in a fast-paced environment. The Marketing and Communications Manager will need to be both strategic and tactical to help lead us into the future by growing our multifaceted association and industry.

ATIA is a world-class not for profit industry association where educational content plays a vital role in advancing ATIA’s mission to serve as the collective voice of the assistive technology (AT) industry so that the best products and services are delivered to people with disabilities.
ATIA is recognized as a leader in the field of Assistive Technology professional development with its annual in-person conference, virtual event, and on-demand Learning Center.

About the Role
This is a full-time remote position. The successful candidate must have deep experience in marketing and communications. You will be both a leader and implementer of the strategic and day-to-day activities for all marketing aspects of the organization.  We seek a team player who rolls up their sleeves and dives in.
ATIA reaches a broad and diverse base of communities.  This diversity requires understanding how to reach these audiences and segments as well as knowing how to best communicate our message appropriately to each segment.
In this role it is not enough to learn about the industry, you will immerse yourself into how our industry and association operates in a much larger ecosystem. A commitment to understand and focus on the nuances of our audiences and segments along with willingness to take risks and try new ways to broaden ATIA’s reach is a priority.
This role will be responsible for:

Developing and executing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy across a range of communication vehicles and media platforms (emails, newsletters, website copy, brochures, press releases, social media, promotions, etc.).
Contributing to and participating in the strategic planning of annual communications and marketing budget.
Keeping a keen focus on accessibility in all methods of communication and engagement delivered by ATIA.
Developing and implementing marketing programs that promote ATIA’s annual conference, Learning Center, subscription program and all member-related activities.
Managing external vendors, providing direction, and ensuring delivery of high-quality marketing materials, on time and on budget.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive initiatives that increase visibility and engagement via association website and social media platforms.
Developing reporting criteria to evaluate and track marketing campaigns.

Ensuring accurate, consistent messaging across all platforms. Responsible for reviewing all outgoing messaging to maintain quality assurance.

This position is fully remote and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. You must have a willingness to travel for a small percentage of the time for quarterly association meetings, team-building events, annual meeting of the association and other times as needed.
About You
The ideal candidate will not only have experience with managing marketing campaigns, websites, social media strategies and working across multiple teams, but also the following:

Enthusiasm to work with a small passionate cause-driven team.
Enjoys working remotely and able to build team relationships in a virtual environment.
Strategic and operational approach; strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; results oriented.
Ability to manage and analyze data trends and statistics to assist in a data-driven decision making process.

Managing, organizing and maintaining a WordPress (or similar CMS) web platform.
Demonstrated skills at using a range of technologies to deliver our marketing messages. Experience working on the following platforms or similar: Canva, EMMA email platform, Survey monkey, Google analytics and Google Ads, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook ad platforms. 

Advanced technology skills using Office 365 products and Zoom.
Familiarity with accessibility requirements and knowledgeable about disabilities.
5+ Years working in a similar role or within an association/not for profit organization.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
