AP Data Scientist – Financial Crime

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join its Financial Crime Solutions team in Singapore. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of data science models to detect fraud, scams, and money laundering. The role involves building and maintaining local data science capabilities, collaborating with global teams, and delivering data science guidance and services to customers across Asia Pacific.

Requirements

• Write Python to a high standard and be familiar with standard data science libraries such as pandas, polars, scikit-learn, and networkx.
• Develop new algorithms in novel situations and demonstrate previous work to evidence this.
• Understand the data worked with and model the behaviours it exposes.
• Communicate technical matters to non-tech colleagues and put oneself in others’ shoes.
• Explore new technologies and techniques and engage in constructive criticism.
• Have professional exposure delivering data science solutions, ideally in a regulated or payments adjacent environment.
