A leading New Jersey-based cannabis cultivation company known for their premium products is entering a phase of rapid growth. They are seeking a Head of Sales, Marketing & Branding to join their team.
The Head of Sales, Marketing & Branding is a senior commercial leader responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening brand presence statewide. This role leads a 10-person team and is hands‑on with both customers and distributors, combining strategic vision, operational rigor, and creative brand development.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and scale a 10-person high‑performance team across sales, marketing, and branding.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow revenue, increase account penetration, and strengthen relationships with key retail partners and distribution stakeholders.
- Maintain a strong field presence, engaging directly with customers and in‑person meetings with key and lead buyers throughout the state.
- Establish KPIs, forecasting models, and accountability structures to ensure team performance and goal alignment.
- Identify new growth opportunities in emerging segments or geographic areas.
- Develop and implement multi‑channel marketing strategies compliant with industry regulations.
- Oversee product launches, promotional campaigns, retail activations, and trade marketing initiatives.
- Leverage data and market analytics to drive ROI, optimize budget allocation, and inform strategic decisions.
- Serve as the steward of the company’s brand identity and voice, elevating perception through premium positioning and consistent messaging.
- Collaborate with creative partners and internal teams to deliver impactful, compliant marketing campaigns.
- Partner with cultivation, operations, compliance, and product teams to align go‑to‑market strategies with supply planning.
- Monitor competitive activity, pricing trends, and consumer insights to translate market intelligence into actionable commercial strategies.
- Drive continuous innovation in brand positioning, partnerships, and portfolio expansion.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales, marketing, or commercial strategy
- Proven success leading high‑growth commercial teams
- Experience in cannabis, healthcare, or other highly regulated markets preferred
- Strong commercial acumen and data‑driven decision‑making capability
- Track record of scaling revenue and building brand equity
- Experience managing direct reports and developing high‑performance teams
- Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving regulatory environment
