The Role
Note: this is a Hybrid role expected to be in-person 3 days per week at our co-working location at 115 Broadway, New York, NY 10006.
Motimatic is seeking a Chief Revenue Officer to build and lead our next era of growth. This executive will own the full revenue engine, including sales, marketing, and GTM strategy. This role will be accountable for driving predictable and repeatable pipeline, sharpening our product positioning, and expanding into new verticals beyond education.
This is a builder role focused on strategy and execution. You’ll inherit a lean team of 4 AE sellers and a marketer, supported by an external SDR agency. Success requires the ability to architect a modern revenue organization while remaining close enough to the work to execute the strategy you design. You will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the SVP of Operations (who oversees Accounts and Partnerships) and SVP of Finance to ensure tight alignment across the business.
The ideal candidate brings deep martech, adtech, or agency/SaaS experience, a track record of zero-to-one GTM development, and a proven ability to scale revenue in environments with constrained budgets and limited headcount. You are data-driven, collaborative, and comfortable operating with both urgency and clarity.
This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for a revenue leader who thrives in early-stage, fast-moving environments and knows how to convert complex value propositions into clear, compelling outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Ownership & Predictable Pipeline Development
- Own all revenue outcomes across sales, marketing, and GTM strategy.
- Build a consistent, reliable pipeline engine across both inbound and outbound channels.
- Establish targets, forecasting discipline, and a data-driven operating rhythm that enables predictable growth.
- Improve demand generation performance and strengthen our ability to reach and convert new verticals including hospitality, SaaS, insurance, and others.
- Leverage your network across industries to directly originate and advance high-value opportunities, serving as an immediate growth driver while broader GTM systems mature.
GTM Strategy, Positioning, & Market Expansion
- Define and refine ICPs, messaging, and value propositions across markets.
- Strengthen Motimatic’s product positioning and clarify product–market fit within each vertical.
- Revamp pitch materials, sales collateral, and storytelling to elevate clarity and impact.
- Lead entry into new industries while scaling and optimizing our core education business.
Sales Leadership & Execution
- Lead and mentor a small team of sellers to achieve strong execution against revenue goals.
- Create a high-accountability sales culture grounded in data, transparency, and urgency.
- Implement processes, playbooks, and pipeline management rigor appropriate for an early-stage GTM environment.
- Operate as a senior contributor when needed, modeling excellence in enterprise selling and consultative storytelling.
Marketing Strategy & Performance
- Oversee marketing, including demand generation, messaging, and campaign performance.
- Improve brand clarity, elevate the narrative, and support the development of high-quality content and materials.
- Ensure marketing investments and activities directly support pipeline health and revenue outcomes.
Cross-Functional Alignment & Client Experience
- Partner closely with the SVP of Operations to ensure alignment from first touch through onboarding and long-term client success.
- Establish a unified view of the full customer journey—from awareness to renewal—to improve client experience and overall performance.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to communicate market needs and support roadmap prioritization.
Strategic Partnerships & Channels
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for channel, reseller, and strategic partnerships.
- Support collaboration with agencies and partners aiming to improve media efficiency and operational performance.
- Work with Operations to ensure partner management and execution align with revenue goals.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in revenue leadership roles spanning sales and marketing, with direct ownership of meaningful revenue targets.
- Must have a background in martech, adtech, SaaS, agency, or a high-performance digital marketing environment.
- Must have operated in early-stage environments (Seed/Series A) and built GTM systems from the ground up.
- Demonstrated success navigating lean budgets and constrained headcount – capable of executing the strategy without relying on team expansion.
- Proven ability to drive outbound + inbound pipeline, refine ICPs, and rapidly test into new markets.
- Strong storytelling and positioning skills; able to translate complex behavioral-science-driven, tech-enabled solutions into compelling narratives.
- Highly data-driven, organized, and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Collaborative, ego-free leader who communicates clearly and operates with urgency and accountability.
- Experience selling marketing or SaaS products into several verticals; non-EDU background strongly preferred.
