Sales Operations Director

Location:

West Coast (San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle Area, Los Angeles Area preferred)

Compensation:

$140,000 – $175,000 (DOE)

You are a dynamic and hands-on Director of Sales Operations to modernize and lead its sales function while directly managing key accounts and closing strategic deals. This role is a blend of sales strategy, operational leadership, and advanced technology enablement designed to build a scalable, high-performing sales engine.

What you’ll be doing:

🔹 Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute strategic plans aimed at achieving $50M+ in annual revenue.
  • Drive go-to-market strategies and lead sales initiatives across multiple channels.
  • Personally manage and close high-value opportunities.

🔹 Pipeline Management

  • Own the full sales pipeline from lead generation to close.
  • Support and guide sales reps through complex negotiations.
  • Provide accurate revenue forecasting and analyze performance metrics to inform strategy.

🔹 Sales Operations Leadership

  • Overhaul current sales operations to increase speed, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Implement and manage CRM platforms, digital workflows, and AI-powered quoting tools.
  • Lead the adoption of automation tools to streamline tasks including:
  • Quote generation
  • Proposal follow-ups
  • Status updates and tracking
  • Order entry and management (especially for high-volume, lower-complexity orders)
  • CRM data input and automated communications

🔹 Technology & Automation

  • Champion the use of intelligent automation to improve sales team responsiveness.
  • Evaluate and implement AI tools for sales forecasting, customer insights, and productivity enhancement.
  • Collaborate with IT or external partners to integrate tools into the existing tech ecosystem.

🔹 Team Support & Enablement

  • Create and implement sales training programs.
  • Provide coaching to improve rep performance, engagement, and customer interaction.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement through data-driven insights.

🔹 Cross-Functional & Customer Collaboration

  • Act as a strategic liaison between sales, operations, engineering, and finance.
  • Ensure sales commitments align with production capabilities and operational capacity.
  • Represent the company in strategic customer relationships and major contract negotiations.

What you bring

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in B2B sales and sales operations, combined with practical experience in implementing modern sales technologies—including automation and AI. Success in this role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and can balance strategic vision with tactical execution.
