Job Summary

NetApp ONTAP storage operating system is our flagship data management software and the foundational platform across NetApp’s on-prem storage and 1st and 3rd party cloud storage portfolio to help organizations build out their hybrid multicloud environment.

As a Sr. Product Marketing Manager for ONTAP, you will be managing the breadth of ONTAP features and responsible for their entire lifecycle management. In this role you will have the opportunity to help define the strategy for promoting ONTAP to our customers and enabling sales and channel partners. You will be responsible for defining our positioning and messaging, creating compelling content, and building effective programs to increase awareness and adoption of these offerings. This is a highly cross-functional position where you will partner closely with Product, Solutions, Digital, Field Marketing, and Learning Services teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and driven individual to work on a growth product and make a global impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Sr. Product Marketing Manager you are part of a dynamic and collaborative team that supports sales and revenue generation goals.
  • Craft impactful messaging that highlights ONTAP’s innovation and differentiated value and influence placement of messaging into ONTAP-reliant products (storage systems and cloud storage)
  • Produce necessary marketing and enablement content for ONTAP software including web pages, data sheets, videos, demos, blogs; find creative ways to get the message out
  • Track business indicators, including industry trends and competitors’ marketing and GTM programs to shape GTM strategy
  • Design and lead strategic initiatives to increase ONTAP upgrades and improve stickiness with adoption of ONTAP features
  • Represent the voice of the customer internally with Product Management and Marketing teams
  • Provide mentorship and support to more junior members in the department

Key Qualifications:

  •  A customer-first approach with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in business terms
  •  Working knowledge of NetApp’s products and services, as well as competitive landscape.
  •  Familiarity with the enterprise data storage industry and hybrid cloud solutions from a software perspective; NAS and SAN protocols, file systems, and related workloads
  •  A strong storyteller with experience crafting clear and compelling messaging and developing strong content
  •  Intellectual curiosity and ability to solve problems that are unique and extremely complex
  •  Ability to work effectively and build strong working relationships across functions, with external parties, and at all levels up to and including Senior Vice President

Job Requirements

  •  A minimum of 10 years of work experience in product management or product marketing in the technology industry
  •  Ability to set priorities, operate, and drive results independently
  •  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects
  •  Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
  •  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities

The base salary hiring wage range for this position which the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position in the specified geographic areas or locations, is [$155,000] – [$220,000]. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, skillset and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law. In addition, the position may include some of the following comprehensive benefits such Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401(K), Paid Time off (PTO), sick time, leave of absence as per the FMLA and other relevant leave laws, Company bonus/commission, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s).
