Remote Full TimeLos Angeles, CA, United States (Remote)Partners for Public Good

Location: Flexible within the U.S. but requires access to a major U.S. airport for travel.

Position Type: Full-time

About Us:

At Partners for Public Good (PPG), we believe that when government works, communities thrive. Launched in March 2025, we are a fast-growing nonprofit dedicated to helping state and local governments harness core operational functions – procurement, staffing, digital infrastructure, and budgeting – to drive public impact.

Our journey began in 2011 at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Government Performance Lab, where we set out to transform public procurement. Since then, we’ve worked with hundreds of governments across the country to make their procurement systems more efficient, fair, results-driven, and strategic. In 2022, we launched the Procurement Excellence Network, putting our tools and strategies in the hands of over two thousand public servants.

Today, our team of doers, coaches, and advisors partners with governments to create lasting, impactful change. Our vision is simple: every resident has a government they can count on, every day.

Role & Organizational Impact:

The Operations Analyst will support the design and execution of PPG’s operational objectives across finance, development, human resources, IT, contract management, general operations and compliance, and team coordination. Reporting to PPG’s Finance & Operations Director and working closely with PPG’s Chief of Staff, the Operations Analyst will work on key operational functions that are the backbone of our organization and enable our team to deliver impactful work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Finance & Budget Support.
  • Process invoices and expense reports, including related data entry and maintenance of supporting documentation.
  • Monitor and follow up on grant payments and other revenue.
  • Work with PPG’s contracted accounting firm in completing month-end and year-end reconciliation and financial close processes, including day-to-day tracking of expenses and revenues.
  • Support grant budgeting and financial reporting efforts by preparing data analysis and reports.
  • Help monitor the organization’s fiscal burn rate and support the development of tracking systems for executive leadership.
  • Assist the Director of Finance and Operations in accurate allocation of expenses across grants.

Human Resources & Personnel

  • Maintain employee records and update HR databases (e.g., onboarding, offboarding, leave requests).
  • Support payroll processing and benefits administration in collaboration with PPG’s Professional Employer Organization (PEO).
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting job descriptions, tracking applicants, and scheduling interviews.
  • Coordinate performance evaluation processes by ensuring orderly dissemination of materials and tracking compliance.
  • Provide operational support for employee relations and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of employee and payroll data.

Contract & Grant Management

  • Maintain a centralized system for storing and tracking contracts and grants.
  • Monitor contract and grant milestones, expiration dates, and renewal timelines.
  • Ensure proper execution and documentation of contracts.
  • Track and report compliance issues to COO and help design and implement corrective actions.

General Operations & Administrative Support

  • Help manage office operations, vendor relationships, and procurement processes.
  • Aid planning and execution of logistics for team travel, convenings, and events, as well as creating and distributing team swag items and PPG collateral.
  • Support process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions.
  • Assist in drafting internal reports, policies, and procedural documentation.
  • Provide analytical support and reporting on operational metrics.
  • Support the CEO, COO & GC, Operations Director, and Chief of Staff with special projects.

Qualifications:

We’re looking for candidates who are:

  • Analytic solution-builders. You can break down complex problems. You develop actionable, clear, creative, and high-impact solutions.
  • Project managers at heart. You are a self-starter who can juggle multiple priorities, stay organized, and keep projects on track in a remote environment. You have a bias to action and take pride in being an implementer.
  • Strong communicators. You excel in verbal, written, and visual communication. You make technical or complex concepts accessible and engaging for a range of audiences.
  • Change catalysts. You recognize that true change requires culture shifts, capacity-building, and empowerment—in addition to better processes. You build trust and momentum, bringing stakeholders along with you while moving with urgency.
  • Adaptable. You thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where every project is unique, and you often must dive in and learn quickly.
  • Collaborative. You care for your colleagues and are quick to pitch in when someone needs help. You are comfortable giving and receiving direct feedback.
  • Mission-aligned. You are motivated by the opportunity to help state and local governments harness core operational functions so that every resident has a government they can count on, every day.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in finance, operations, HR, or compliance support roles, with related nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), financial or HR software (e.g., QuickBooks, ADP, or similar), Adobe, Canva, and comfort with other software.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 3-5 times per year.
