PayPal seeks Data Scientist 1 in San Jose, CA to build new data models, create presentations, and lead strategic exercises. The role involves collecting, collating, and providing analytical information for meetings, managing analytical projects, and executing complex business challenges.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Quantitative Management, or a closely related field
  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation
  • Experience using Python and SQL for data analysis, querying databases, and machine learning
  • Experience with statistical analysis, probability, hypothesis testing, parametric & non-parametric tests, and A/B testing frameworks and product analytics
  • Experience with Bayesian Statistics and Mixed Effect Modeling to measure product launches
  • Experience with Causal Inference methods to measure product impact
  • Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling using scikit-learn
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Looker, Plotly, Dash, and Matplotlib/Seaborn for presenting insights
  • Experience handling large-scale datasets using PySpark, Hadoop, or BigQuery
  • Experience with cloud computing, storage, and model deployment on AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience designing ETL pipelines and working with structured and unstructured data in data warehouses
  • Experience translating data insights into actionable business strategies and communicating findings to stakeholders
