This Principal Go To Market (GTM) Engineer is a cross-functional, technical leader on the GTM team. This position will work closely with the Sales and Product/Technical teams to build, deploy, and operate product demonstration and evaluation experiences for the field. These demo and evaluation experiences help close deals, grow pipeline, and accelerate product consumption. In this role, you will closely align with Regional Sales leadership to build and scale these demo experiences as part of Redpanda’s larger pre-sales journey. A key part to our success is finding technical and creative ways to demonstrate the value of Redpanda straight from our field teams’ laptops and directly experience the power of the product. You’ll interface with our customers, as well as Redpanda’s Solutions Engineering, Product, and Marketing teams.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Solution Engineering teams to develop compelling demo environments and GTM evaluation experiences (e.g., Proof of Concept)
- Partner with Product and Revenue leaders to establish a system to prioritize Redpanda “chapters” for Field demo story development
- Track and report on KPIs associated with demo usage, such as frequency and Sales team adoption, as well as partnering with Solution Engineering partners to drive further enablement
- Partner across Field teams to scale adoption through documentation and enablement
- Serve as a Product Sherpa to the rest of Field – e.g., field training and Q&A
- Gather feedback through observations and interactions with Sales teams and prospects and evaluate complex use cases to provide feedback to appropriate internal teams
What you bring:
- 6+ years of experience supporting enterprise software sales and technical selling experience
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, cloud platforms, and stream processing or related messaging/infrastructure technologies
- Experience with working on go-to-market activities for software products
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet internal and external deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and with all levels of the organization
- Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to operate both at strategic and tactical levels
- Experience delivering customer-facing presentations
- Hands-on experience with tools like Kubernetes, Docker, and scripting languages
U.S. base salary range for this role is $180,000 – $215,000 (CO salary range: $180,000 – $215,000), in addition to bonus, equity and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, degree or certification, and location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. New hire salary within this range is ultimately determined by a candidate’s skills, expertise, relevant experience, and location.
