Overview

This role serves as a strategic advisor and execution partner to the SVP, Americas Sales—driving alignment, execution, and operational excellence across the region. The Sr. Director translates strategic priorities into actionable plans that deliver measurable business impact, balancing big-picture strategy with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Alignment & Execution

  • Partner with the SVP to translate strategic vision into actionable GTM plans.
  • Drive execution of high-impact initiatives and ensure alignment with corporate goals.
  • Prioritize opportunities, deals, and programs that maximize growth and profitability.
  • Lead key projects such as market expansion, sales model evolution, and CRM/tech transformations.
  • Collaborate with Sales Ops on pipeline health, forecasting, and performance insights.
  • Monitor KPIs and recommend data-driven improvements.
  • Support headcount and resource planning.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Align Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Customer Success on GTM priorities.
  • Foster collaboration and remove obstacles to ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.

Executive Communications

  • Develop executive presentations and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage leadership meetings—track decisions and ensure follow-up.
  • Support preparation for business reviews and leadership forums.

Team Enablement & Culture

  • Partner with leadership to build a high-performance culture.
  • Support talent strategy, onboarding, and enablement initiatives (e.g., SKO, playbooks, CRM adoption).
  • Lead transformation and process improvement projects across the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years in sales strategy, operations, or executive support within a high-growth organization.
  • Strong business acumen and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency with CRM and analytics tools (e.g., Salesforce).

Compensation

Consistent with Proofpoint values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets as set out below. Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. The range provided may represent a candidate range and may not reflect the full range for an individual tenured employee. This role may be eligible for variable compensation and/or equity. We offer a competitive benefits package, including flexible time off, a comprehensive well-being program with two paid Wellbeing Days and two paid Volunteer Days per year, plus a three-week Work from Anywhere option.

Base Pay Ranges

SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area: $238,240.00 – $327,580.00 USD

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska: $191,360.00 – $263,120.00 USD

All other cities and states excluding those listed above: $172,320.00 – $236,940.00 USD
