Role Overview

Reporting to the VP Finance, the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will be a critical leader within our finance team and a key business partner for leadership, our program teams, and for all functional areas within the Company. This role will oversee the financial forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning and periodic performance analysis to support management and program team decision making.

What You Will Do

Work with functional leaders to develop annual budgets, financial forecasts and long-range plans that align with company strategy. Provide quarterly variance analysis of actuals to forecast/budget, explain and investigate any significant discrepancies, and understand key business drivers.

Must-Haves: 12+ years experience in financial planning and analysis, in-depth knowledge of budgeting processes specific to the biotech industry, strong understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting, and experience with public company compliance highly desired.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field; MBA highly preferred
  • 12+ years experience in financial planning and analysis
  • In-depth knowledge of budgeting processes specific to the biotech industry, including R&D forecasting and clinical trial budgeting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting, and experience with public company compliance highly desired
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with Adaptive Insights or other financial planning software preferred; NetSuite and Coupa experience also highly valued
  • Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to navigate in a high growth environment
  • Highly collaborative with strong influencing skills and track record of exceptional business partnership
  • Ability to flex from embracing tactical requirements to strategy as needed
