As the Digital Marketing Communications Manager, you will be an instrumental member of the Marketing team, reporting to the CMO and working with our senior content marketer. The primary responsibility will be collaborating with the marketing team and key stakeholders to implement integrated, multi-channel platforms and communication tactics for Templum If you get a thrill out of being featured in top-tier publications, want to deliver a thriving communication, and content program, and have prior experience, relationships and experience pitching to top fintech media outlets and programs this role is for you. You must be a self-starter who can clearly formulate and communicate B2B Communication and PR recommendations and plans to both peers and executives, drive collaborative decisions, and deliver results You will also be comfortable providing counsel and guidance to a wide variety of counterparts crossing several disciplines.
Additionally, you will consistently work with and establish a range of media contacts with a focus on financial technology, industry, and Tier-I business publications. You will have media relations experience pitching news on a large scale, a record of accomplishment of driving positive news cycles and in-depth stories in the technology and financial markets space, and the ability to manage reactive news cycles The ability to dive deep into the technical subject matter is important. The right candidate will also have an opportunity to build the function from the ground up and play a pivotal role in brand awareness and category building.
Primary Responsibilities
- Drive a steady drumbeat of high-impact corporate and consumer press that raises brand awareness and positions Templum as a leader in our space
- Develop strategic PR/media campaigns for Templum with the CMO
- Conduct staff media interviews (in person and online)
- Draft news releases, media kit, and newsroom pieces
- Pitch story ideas and news releases to media outlets
- Make recommendations for sharing news across client channels (e g , newsletters and
- social media)
- Monitor for, organize, and report on media coverage for both Templum and Competition
- Manage and guide proactive PR announcements, launches, and narratives
- Monitor sources like HARO, Quoted and local, trade, and other media outlets for opportunities for Templum to comment
- Develop and manage relationships with a range of target media contacts, including those in technology, vertical, and business spaces; provide resources to facilitate media placements and opportunities
- Collaborate with content marketing manager to flesh out story angles
- Expand partner, influencer audience and engagement
- Develop angles and ideas for thought leadership positioning of executives in trade media
- Stay abreast of industry trends and issues to adapt to opportunities and needs in the market
- Provide editorial quality control for a variety of external communications with a range of writing styles, including news writing, on short deadlines
- Align communications with AP and/or Chicago and conform to the company style book and brand guidelines
- Leverage content marketing, social media, and demand-gen best practices with market messaging
- Contribute blog posts to corporate websites on industry topics as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience
- Proven record of accomplishment in building a communications program that shows momentum through a steady drumbeat of high-impact press
- You are a talented writer, and can communicate concepts with flourish and emotion, but can also present complicated problems in simple, approachable terms
- You can manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges, both proactively and reactively, and have a bias towards experimentation and action
- You ideally have a background in FinTech, SaaS (Software as a Service) and enterprise technology businesses, or adjacent industries
- You have a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling
- You are comfortable in a fast-paced, agile environment
- You have developed and refined frameworks for communicating and sharing messages that would be effective in a high-growth tech company
- You have media relations experience with a knack for proactive pitching
- You are an avid news consumer and savvy about social media, from Discord Groups to LinkedIn
- You have a record of accomplishment of coaching, supporting, and media training senior leaders
- You have exceptional collaboration skills and personal qualities of humility, empathy, and curiosity

Expected annual base salary for this role is between $100,000 and $125,000 at the commencement of employment. However, base salary, if hired, will be determined on an individualized basis and constitutes only one part of the total rewards and compensation package, which will include a 4% 401K match and health benefits subsidized at 75% by Templum. Depending on the position, total compensation may also include options, commission earnings, incentive compensation, and/or discretionary bonuses.
