About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Product Marketing, the Product Marketing Manager/Senior Manager (PMM) at Thoropass brings the company’s end-to-end compliance solution to life, one story at a time. As a strategic player and leader for the company, the PMM helps to define product direction, develops core positioning & messaging (ensuring it is adhered to across the organization), develops strategies for go-to-market activities (including sales enablement and competitive positioning), launches products, defines target buyer personas, researches and fully understands the buyer journey and how each buyer persona participates in the buying process, and develops and collaborates with the demand gen and content marketing team to develop marketing plans, guide content development and campaigns.

PMMs must thoroughly familiarize themselves with the company’s product offering and the end-to-end compliance journey. As a subject matter expert, the PMM may be called upon to present to internal or external stakeholders (including industry analysts or customers/prospects), participate in online and in-person marketing events, and develop content for campaigns or other marketing programs. As an expert in the buying behaviors of potential customers, the PMM will conduct market research as needed to inform go-to-market strategies and to ensure Thoropass sales teams are properly equipped with value-oriented sales messaging, pitch decks, and collateral. The PMM studies market data as it becomes available and adjusts existing plans and/or designs new approaches to maximize the opportunity. The PMM must be very comfortable working in a cross-functional organization, including sales, product management, customer success, finance, and all functions within marketing.

About our Marketing team

We love collaborating and seeing each other succeed – it is all about teamwork! We set clear expectations through quarterly OKRs, and map goals to company-level revenue targets. We are a numbers-oriented team that requires visibility into how we’re performing. Alongside the Director, Product Marketing, you help develop quarterly plans and annual strategies, playing a pivotal role in recommending the budget, channels, and resources required to drive product awareness and adoption effectively. The Marketing team at Thoropass is highly-visible across the organization and is a core driving force for our current and future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with product management to define the vision and direction we take with new product features and capabilities.
  • Guide cross-functional projects and drive product awareness, internal enablement, and customer engagement.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies, including the creation of customer-facing content and sales tools.
  • Develop value-based product positioning and messaging that crisply differentiates our products.
  • Communicate the value proposition of the Thoropass solution to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to determine market sizing, new use cases, and target markets.
  • Support the overall marketing team’s lead-generation campaigns and marketing messages.
  • Drive product launches from conception to post-launch support.
  • Deliver product demonstrations as needed. Coach/help the Compliance Architect and Account Executive team on how to position product demos.
  • Measure and manage the impact of marketing activities on the customer lifecycle.
  • Conduct inquiries/briefings with the analyst community.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
  • 3 to 5+ years of Product Marketing experience; strong preference for SaaS, cybersecurity, and/or InfoSec compliance
  • Demonstrated experience and proven track record working with and launching highly technical and B2B-focused products and solutions
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, customers, and strategic partners to drive results
  • Data-informed marketing approach, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into business benefits
  • Proven experience influencing product vision and roadmap
  • Strong evaluative skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent business communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude

Compensation & Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is $135,000 – $145,000 plus variable, which will be commensurate with experience and skill
