The Marketing Campaign Manager engages and collaborates with vertical marketing counterparts for planning and delivery of outbound marketing campaigns and lead-gen programs designed to build the sales pipeline, generate leads, accelerate opportunities, and engage clients. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of marketing campaign execution, including setup, segmentation, testing, deployment, and post campaign reporting as well as list and data management. The Marketing Campaign Manager supervises the daily work of a team of Marketing Campaign Specialists (direct reports) and provides training and support for new and existing MarCom users.

Responsibilities

  • Tactical execution of marketing campaigns and programs: emails, webinars, landing pages, etc. Ensures quality of all data in campaign lists prior to import. Builds, tests, and deploys campaigns using email marketing/marketing automation tool, verifying copy, layout, links, and dynamic content as well as assessing and addressing any spam risk.

  • Assigns and adjusts specific campaign management responsibilities to the Campaign Specialist team to ensure a balanced workload across all vertical marketing and communications support stakeholder groups.
  • Leadership: accountable for the overall success of the Campaign Specialist team; fosters the professional growth and development of each team member.
  • Primary point of contact for all matters related to marketing campaigns: Acts as a consultant and liaison to internal clients; provides guidance and suggestions based on data and/or pre-defined best practices and provides training and assistance for new and existing users of marketing automation tools.
  • Provides email campaign and list performance metrics and makes recommendations to improve campaign effectiveness.
  • Partners and coordinates closely with the Marketing Technology Manager to ensure alignment while optimizing marketing automation technology and implementing campaign execution and lead management best practices
  • In coordination with the Marketing Data team, supports list and marketing data hygiene efforts via audits to address issues and works with cross functional teams to correct/update as needed. Helps to maintain/update/add records into CRM as well as research/append data as needed; helps maintain segmentation criteria.
  • Effectively manages internal relationships with field marketing teams – ability to respond quickly and manage high volume of campaigns in a timely manner.
  • Stays current on email marketing / marketing automation / marketing technology trends.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly organized, results-driven leader and expert-level contributor with the ability to deliver results while motivating and supporting team. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Successful candidates must demonstrate the capacity to think strategically, take initiative, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams. Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills are a must.

  • Must have Bachelors’ degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 5-8 years experience building and deploying email campaigns using email marketing or marketing automation tools (experience with Marketo strongly preferred), including 3+ years of experience managing and mentoring a team of direct reports
  • Knowledge of best practices for email creative, segmentation, deliverability, and CAN-SPAM regulations
  • Solid knowledge of email marketing best practices, image and digital asset manipulation; basic knowledge in HTML, CSS a plus
  • Experience working with databases (like Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics CRM) and related integrations with marketing systems.
  • Well-versed in data manipulation and basic analytic skills, good knowledge of Excel.
