The Office of Marketing & Communications in The Grainger College of Engineering seeks applicants for a Recruitment Marketing Coordinator position. The Recruitment Marketing Coordinator will assist in developing, executing, and measuring strategic marketing communications plans that recruit and yield top students and support the Grainger Engineering brand. The Recruitment Marketing Coordinator will play an integral role in connecting our activity to impact by optimizing the coordination and production of student recruitment marketing activities and initiatives for Grainger Engineering; producing marketing content; coordinating and conducting market research and regularly delivering performance data reports that inform strategic direction; and assisting in providing quality assurance for college recruitment marketing materials. A successful Recruitment Marketing Coordinator will be a data-driven creative thinker who is passionate about engaging prospective students around Grainger Engineering’s legacy of innovation and future vision through measurable tactics and teamwork.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing Coordination

  • Produce and implement marketing activities and initiatives that deliver on Grainger Engineering recruitment goals and strategic plans
  • Create, write, and coordinate marketing tactics including emails, direct mail, ads, webpages, print materials, collateral, social and paid media, etc. in support of recruitment marketing goals
  • Generate ideas and suggest strategic marketing tactics that align with the college brand strategy for various marketing initiatives
  • Work within the office project management software and system, maintaining accountability for projects
  • Coordinate and support the delivery of marketing tools and resources for communicators, faculty and staff across all college units through Marcom website and regular communication
  • Maintain a pulse on market and industry trends by conducting market research and identifying potential marketing opportunities
  • Assist in providing quality assurance (QA) on marketing materials produced for the college

Tracking & Reporting

  • Assist in developing recruitment campaign success metrics, organizing channel performance data and providing monthly recruitment channel performance reports (including websites, emails, social and paid media platforms) for the college and collaborating units
  • Coordinate and manage recruitment-related data dashboards for college and collaborating units
  • Assist in coordinating recruitment marketing campaigns and activities to ensure correlation of activity to impact through appropriate digital tracking and regular reporting

Other

  • Guide all projects from start to finish using project management tools
  • Support the array of general marketing activities including but not limited to assisting with events, web initiatives, photography, videography and other diverse duties.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field
  • Two (2) years of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.
  • Demonstrated experience with organizing, interpreting and reporting performance analytics data for web and other digital media platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience with information technology, including use of project management software, creative and productivity software, online educational tools and resources or presentation software.
  • Demonstrated experience writing marketing copy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in marketing and/or communications for higher education
  • Experience of web development and/or using a CMS
  • Experience using design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Crello, etc.
  • Experience using an email building platform, such as MailChimp, Litmus, Slate, etc.
  • Experience optimizing and developing website content in alignment with brand strategy
  • Experience with user experience (UX) design and content strategy
  • Experience in developing and implementing data-informed marketing and communications plans, with a focus on web and other digital media platforms
  • Experience developing and implementing paid digital media campaign

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and work collaboratively
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently on projects
  • Excellent customer service and public relations skills
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of cultural differences

APPOINTMENT INFORMATION

This is a full-time Civil Service Marketing Associate position appointed on a 12-month service basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the closing date. The minimum salary is $55,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Hybrid work options may be available for this position, with the ability to be on-site as needed. Work authorization is not available for this position.
