The offering will also be direct to clients with best-in-class global scale in consulting, engineering, data, scaled automation, and platform delivery. The comprehensive solution includes VML platform service brands such as MAP, Diff, and Satalia, a leading AI company acquired by WPP in 2021. The group also brings together tenured global partnerships with Adobe, Salesforce, Google, Microsoft, Braze, and MACH Alliance, among others.

The role

Reporting into the Global Chief Growth Officer, Enterprise Solutions the primary focus of the role is to work with and lead both internal and external key leadership and a diverse array of team members in the North American market. Driving growth to drive increased YoY topline revenue growth – by bringing in and selling the wider VML Enterprise Solutions offerings. While you are drawing from the strengths of our prioritized verticals and offerings, and tapping into the global capabilities, your role is to orchestrate initiatives, engage with potential clients, and work alongside the wider team to convert opportunities into healthy business. Both a strong client partner and a leader by influence, this person will be charged with leading out our GTM in NA. Identifying opportunities, building strategic and revenue-generating plans, and developing and creating solutions that solve high-level business challenges for some of the largest brands in the world and make a meaningful impact in the lives of their customers.

You will need to be extremely hungry to develop new opportunities with a keen eye on the prize, through building relationships at the highest level. But also have the ability to manage new opportunities from initial conversation, all the way through to scoping, implementation, and set-up of the team before handing over to our Client and Business Leadership teams. This person will be constantly working with and leading the relevant teams in NA, to seek, build and enhance the new client pipeline, adjusting as necessary for sustainable growth.

They will monitor the marketplace and analyze opportunities, providing competitive strategies and tactics, while remaining well-connected with top-tier clients, to ensure that their needs are being factored into ever-evolving development and enhancement cycles. The ideal candidate must always want to be “in the room” and have a deep understanding of both our industry and offerings.

This “Hunter” must be deeply curious about new methodologies and thinking and be able to adapt to an ever-changing ecosystem and emerging competitors. They will be a passionate problem solver and critical thinker who values innovative ideas, creativity, and elegant solutions. Key for this individual’s success will be the ability to not only drive and grow revenue from new clients but also understand the value of interdisciplinary collaboration and eschewing silos.

The attitude and approach of the right candidate is, in many ways, as important as the experience and skills they possess – as the role will be at the heart of the business. You will need to be a self-starter, highly motivated, have natural leadership qualities and gravitas. You must be prepared to interface with all departments in the business to gather the support and buy-in required. The environment is extremely varied and fast-paced so you’ll need to be comfortable juggling multiple plates. Therefore, the right candidate will need to possess bags of energy and drive and demonstrate a passion for developing the business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a new business strategy and supporting plan for NA.
  • Lead the Enterprise Solutions growth teams in North America, reporting to Global Chief Growth Officer, Enterprise Solutions with a dotted line into the CEO of North America.
  • Ultimately act as the centre of gravity for the entire new business offering for VML Enterprise Solutions in NA, to deliver on revenue targets set for the business.
  • Monitor the revenue pipeline and leads, adjusting as necessary to create sustainable growth.
  • Establish both short-term results and long-term strategy, including revenue forecasting.
  • Bring a fresh and strategic approach to how we best answer our clients brief, looking for new ways to solve client problems through our wider capabilities.
  • Tailor the best possible offering for each opportunity by collaborating closely with colleagues in NA and offices in other countries and group functions.
  • Communicate the value proposition to prospective clients in a manner appropriate for the target audience of C-Suite executive.
  • Working closely with the marketing team to come up with innovative and engaging ways to market ourselves to prospects and partners alike.
  • Establish and build strong relationships with business and platform partners.
  • Collaborate with the other sales teams (client management) to ensure efficient closing and hand-over of opportunities as well as collaborate around common sales topics.
  • Develop contracts and scopes of work in collaboration with internal teams to help set pricing, client goals, and objectives.
  • Transfer knowledge; share and socialize best practice exemplary work, ideas and solutions within NA and globally.

The ideal candidate

A strategic thinker with proven experience developing, managing, and building revenue pipelines, as well as being able to recognize client company omni-channel experiences and needs that meaningfully impact agency growth across multi-channel sectors. Fearlessness in the face of the undefined and ready to break with conventional process. Excited by opportunities to create new rather than default to plugging-in to existing ones, while leaning towards experimentation. Able to learn and adapt to new technologies and trends. Prepared to fail in order to learn.

Deep knowledge of VML’s ecosystem of technology partners and their unique capabilities to solve problems for our clients (i.e. Adobe, Salesforce, Braze, Shopify, Sitecore, Aquia Drupal, Optimizely etc.) Must have extensive expertise with the preparation of business quotes, RFIs, RFPs, or other sales/new business-related documentation.

A champion of team environments that are comfortable with ambiguity and encourage collaboration, especially working cross-discipline. An exceptional communicator, regardless of medium, with an emphasis on storytelling, pitching and presentations, facilitating work-sessions, and articulating and defending strategy and campaign decisions. Knowledge and appreciation of technology’s evolving constraints and capabilities.

A deeply collaborative mindset and approach, and the ability to listen as well as give clear direction. Is a kind, “no-ego,” empathetic, open-minded, and collaborative leader with gravitas and purpose: must be able to inspire and galvanize action, intent, and vision.
