The Marketing & Communications Specialist, Senior oversees the on-going development and implementation of the organization’s marketing, community relations, communications, promotional activities, and special events to market the system’s services, products, and programs. Develops communications tactics in support of the hospital’s overall strategic goals. Maintains cost effectiveness and meets necessary standards to achieve results. Works closely with departments and service lines to develop plans to meet objectives and to implement marketing plans. Counsels and advises accordingly.

  • Responsible for marketing and communications projects involving hospitals and healthplexes, physician practices and service lines to support strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as communication strategist working collaboratively with service line leaders and physicians in developing marketing plans and strategies, key messages, on-going campaigns and communications tactics. Leads implementation of tactics.
  • Collaborates with marketing team members to create dynamic digital and traditional advertising campaigns. Assists team members with identifying good media and social stories and blog ideas as part of the overall marketing strategy.
  • Works both independently and collaboratively with marketing and creative team members to execute strategies and tactics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write and edit copy for a variety of communication pieces.
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines. Maintains a high level of organization and attention to detail. Enjoys being tactically creative in an organized way.
  • Responsible for strategic communication oversight and recommending ongoing enhancements for select audiences, program(s) or communication channel(s). Ability to adjust tactics based on strategy and goals.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and professional standards.
  • Knowledgeable of customer relationship management systems and their use.
  • Knowledgeable of social media platforms and the creation of editorial calendars.
  • Advanced knowledge of AP Style.
  • Interest in health and wellness.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, English, Marketing or Advertising required, along with 6 years of experience in public relations, marketing, or communications.


  • Full time- 8:30am – 5:00pm with some flexibility on working remote vs. in-office. Weekends as needed. Call requirements once a quarter.

Experience Requirements:

  • 6 Years Public Relations, Marketing or Communications Required

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Journalism Or Mass Communications Or English Or Marketing Or Advertising Required

Hours of Work:

  • 8:30 am to 5 pm

Weekend Requirements:

  • As Needed
