Sales Operations & Commercial Effectiveness Leader

BD – a global medical technology company – seeks a leader to drive commercial execution across the Greater Asia APM business unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Sales Operations sub‑functions at BU level (Contracts, Pricing, Inventory, Sales Operations), setting strategy, policy, and execution.
  • Develop and execute the Greater Asia Sales Operations strategy in partnership with senior commercial leaders.
  • Serve as subject‑matter expert and trusted advisor to country and regional leaders on business operations and commercial execution.
  • Plan and lead multi‑country strategic initiatives (e.g., strategy planning, AOP, critical transformation projects); prioritize initiatives with highest business impact.
  • Analyze complex challenges and provide actionable recommendations for leadership decision‑making.
  • Deploy and scale commercial excellence tools across countries, ensuring high adoption and minimal disruption.
  • Refine and standardize Salesforce usage (funnel and pipeline management, opportunity management, workflow optimization, dashboard governance).
  • Leverage analytics to assess effectiveness of sales and clinical resources, recommending changes where needed.
  • Partner with Marketing and Professional Education to support technical and sales training; provide structured training and ongoing support for new tools.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to track performance of deployed tools; drive visibility through dashboards and analytics.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead changes to enhance the commercial operating model.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field (MBA or equivalent business experience preferred).
  • More than 7 years of commercial experience, including ≥5 years in leadership of Commercial Excellence, Sales Operations, or Sales Effectiveness in a regional or multi‑country, matrixed environment.
  • Proven track record of driving process excellence, leading cross‑functional initiatives, and delivering measurable business results.
  • Prior sales or sales leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce.com (funnel management, dashboards) and marketing automation tools (e.g., Marketo).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; proficiency in MS Excel; SAP knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills, both in person and virtually.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
