Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join an exciting project with one of the largest retail companies in Mexico. The role involves translating complex business challenges into data science and machine learning solutions, designing and developing statistical and ML models, and collaborating with engineering teams.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities include translating complex business challenges into data science and machine learning solutions, designing and developing statistical and ML models, and collaborating with ML Engineers and Data Engineers to deliver production-ready solutions.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Statistical Analysis, or Applied Research.
• Expert-level Python.
• Fluent in English (Advanced) B2 – C2
• Experience with Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, Pandas, Polars, Statsmodels, SciPy, TensorFlow or PyTorch, Advanced SQL and PySpark, and cloud storage platforms such as GCS or Azure Blob Storage.
• Professional experience using Git.
• Experience with MLflow or similar experiment tracking tools.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including versioning, modular code, and documentation.
• Responsible use of Generative AI tools with the ability to validate and critically evaluate their outputs.
