What You Will Do

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will develop innovative algorithms for personalizing the shopping experience using modern machine learning methods. You will combine data science expertise with a pragmatic, agile approach to develop innovative solutions and achieve measurable results in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Very good knowledge of Python or experience with at least one scientific programming language (e.g. MATLAB, R, Julia, C++)
• Very good SQL knowledge and experience with analytical and/or transactional databases
• Theoretical understanding of machine learning principles and practical experience in building, training, and iterating models
• Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning solutions with measurable business impact
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and tools for efficient processing of large data sets (e.g. pandas, NumPy, Dask, Apache Arrow, Polars)
• Experience in designing, building, and operating data pipelines
• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms for model training and deployment (e.g. GCP Vertex AI, Amazon SageMaker)
• Solid understanding of statistical methods for model evaluation
• Experience in working with big data and analyzing large data sets using statistical and machine learning methods
• Knowledge in the area of DevOps and experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab CI/CD, HashiCorp Terraform) is an advantage
• Interest or experience in the area of Generative AI and agent-based frameworks (e.g. LangChain, ADK, CrewAI, Pydantic AI) is an advantage
• Understanding of recommendation, retrieval, and re-ranking systems in the e-commerce and retail environment is an advantage
• Ability to communicate complex machine learning concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven experience in working in a team and building standards and best practices for the use of machine learning models
• Proactive attitude in knowledge exchange and promotion of a fast, iterative development environment
• Very good written and spoken communication skills in English
