Lead — Commercial Finance & FP&A

Role Overview

The role involves owning the group profit and loss account, testing the numbers, and challenging the cost of sales submissions. The lead will work directly with the Head of Finance and the senior leadership team, and the function will report into the monthly close and quarterly executive pack.

What You Will Do

The lead will be responsible for producing the numbers, testing them, and challenging the cost of sales submissions. They will also lead an analytics team and work directly with the operating verticals, treasury, growth, and the senior leadership team.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a strong command of Excel, experience owning a P&L or a material part of one, and the ability to interrogate a dataset themselves. They will also have experience in commercial finance, FP&A, or a comparable analytical finance role, and the ability to quantify and evidence cost optimisation experience.

Requirements

• qualified accountant — ACCA, ACA, CA or CIMA — or an equivalent finance qualification
• six or more years in commercial finance, FP&A or a comparable analytical finance role
• demonstrable cost optimisation experience with savings you can quantify and evidence
• strong command of Excel and a working ability in SQL, Python or Power BI
• experience owning a P&L or a material part of one, with accountability for the variance
• clear written English
