Role Overview

The Senior Marketing Manager serves as the strategic marketing lead for Australia, accountable for developing and guiding the local-level marketing strategy and plan. Based in our Hawthorn office and reporting to the Regional Director, Marketing Strategy, this individual contributor role functions as the voice of the local market within the broader region and marketing organization, ensuring that marketing efforts reflect local realities, client and customer needs, and commercial priorities.

What You Will Do

Develop and lead the country-level marketing strategy and annual plan, align local marketing priorities with commercial goals and regional/global initiatives, partner with in-country executives and sales leaders to identify marketing needs and opportunities, drive quarterly and annual planning cycles, provide visibility into local marketing activities and performance, gather and apply marketing-relevant consumer, industry, and market insights, serve as the local expert contributing to regional/global research projects, monitor competitor activity, market trends, and media behaviours, ensure messaging and content are locally relevant and compliant, shape B2B sales and positioning materials to reflect local market dynamics, support commercial teams with high-impact bids, proposals, and RFPs, guide long-term positioning strategies that support client growth and retention, coordinate translation, adaptation, and refinement of sales content, support industry events and local market presence, lead the execution of campaigns and marketing initiatives for Australia, work cross-functionally with regional and global marketing teams to execute effectively, track KPIs and performance metrics to ensure outcomes are achieved, partner with Growth Marketing and local teams to deliver client GTM initiatives, coordinate compliance, product, and account functions to ensure effective execution, shape rollout plans and content adaptation for client programmes, manage translation, legal reviews, and deployment for local activation.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, including performance marketing
  • Previous experience in insurance, FMCG, retail and/or consumer durables will be highly regarded
  • Proven success in developing and delivering strategic marketing plans
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, analytics, and insight-driven decision-making
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder skills, including across different regions and time zones
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a matrixed, fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration skills and a solutions-oriented mindset – able to navigate ambiguity and drive alignment across functions
