Data Scientist, Senior

Role Overview

As a data scientist, you will use your analytical skills to improve Air Force mission solutions by working closely with customers to understand their questions and needs, and then digging into their data-rich environment to find the pieces of their information puzzle. You will develop data collection tools, data visualizations and dashboards, algorithms, and scripts to process data or conduct predictive analytics leveraging machine learning or other approaches.

You will use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn a set of disparate data points into objective answers to help Air Force leaders make informed decisions. You will provide your customer with a deep understanding of their data, what it all means, and how they can use it.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Python-based data analysis, including anomaly detection and exploratory data analysis (EDA) with a focus on machine learning and data science applications
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing API-based data integration pipelines
• 3+ years of experience integrating ML models into production web applications beyond prototyping such as Jupyter notebooks
• 3+ years of experience managing the full lifecycle of data science and AI projects at an enterprise or real-world scale
• 2+ years of experience working with varied data formats including text, time-series, image, and signals for algorithms and model training
• Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets in operational constraints
• Knowledge of statistical concepts such as confidence intervals and error significance, mathematical modeling, and optimization techniques
• Ability to communicate and share insights with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Science, or Engineering
