Role Overview

Elder Research seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Scientist to join our team in Springfield, VA. The Data Scientist will work directly with clients, managers, and technical staff to understand business needs and develop technical plans to deliver data-driven analytical solutions.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include developing technical plans, delivering data-driven analytical solutions, creating and deploying predictive models, and working with clients to understand business rules and translate them to technical specifications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, experience with Python, and knowledge of model evaluation approaches. They will also be able to communicate clearly with teammates and clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or a combination of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data extraction, ingestion, and modeling
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with writing advanced SQL queries
  • Knowledge of model evaluation approaches
  • Ability to work with client Subject Matter Experts
