Data Operations Lead

Role Overview

The Data Operations Lead will play a critical role in maintaining and evolving the data infrastructure that supports ERM’s finance systems, reporting environment, and enterprise applications. The role requires advanced expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and related technologies, as well as strong proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, functions, views, query optimization, and database performance tuning.

What You Will Do

The Data Operations Lead will ensure the availability, performance, and stability of ERM’s core SQL database environment and business intelligence platforms. They will also support and optimize critical business systems, enable data-driven decision-making, and drive improvements in database architecture, data integration, analytics capabilities, and reporting solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, Data Engineer, BI Engineer, or similar role
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and related technologies
• Strong proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, functions, views, query optimization, and database performance tuning
• Experience with database design, schema development, logical and physical data modelling
• Strong understanding of query languages and analytics technologies, including SQL, MDX, DAX, Power Query (M), and PostgreSQL
• Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing ETL/ELT processes using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, or equivalent tools
• Hands-on experience developing and supporting Power BI solutions, including Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
• Experience creating and maintaining analytics data pipelines that support reporting, insights, and operational decision-making
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric architecture, including OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Pipelines, and Notebooks
• Understanding of business intelligence best practices, including dimensional modelling, data warehousing, and data governance
• Experience supporting mission-critical systems with a strong focus on uptime, stability, and service excellence
• Working knowledge of Windows Server environments and networking fundamentals
• Experience operating within regional or global organizations
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
