Director of Data Strategy and Operations leads the development and execution of a comprehensive, enterprise-wide data strategy, overseeing governance, quality, privacy compliance, analytics capabilities, and modern data architecture.

Requirements

  • Defines and executes a comprehensive data strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Leads cross-functional data initiatives, partnering with business and technology leaders to drive value through data.
  • Develops a roadmap for data capabilities, including governance, analytics, architecture, and tooling.
  • Establishes and oversees data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Champions data quality initiatives and drives the adoption of data stewardship across departments.
  • Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal policies.
  • Builds and leads a high-performing data operations team responsible for metadata management, data cataloging, lineage, and MDM (Master Data Management).
  • Oversees the development and management of KPIs to monitor data usage, health, and integrity.
  • Drives operational efficiency through process automation, data integration, and tooling improvements.
  • Collaborates with IT and engineering teams to define and maintain scalable data infrastructure and architecture.
  • Leads the evaluation and implementation of modern data platforms, tools, and technologies (e.g., cloud data warehouses, data lakes).
  • Serves as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure data needs are met and aligned with business goals.
  • Provides executive-level insights and updates on data initiatives and outcomes.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
