Role Overview
GDIT is seeking a Data Scientist to support our NASA programs. The Data Librarian will make data findable, understood, and trusted by mapping lineage, setting metadata standards, and driving adoption across the community.
What You Will Do
Catalog and describe the portfolio’s data, build and maintain taxonomies, and set cataloging and metadata standards. Help analysts and engineers find the right data, interpret it correctly, and understand its provenance and limits.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Library and Information Science with a data curation focus, 5+ years of experience in data librarianship, and hands-on experience running a data catalog or metadata management platform.
Requirements
- Master’s in Library and Information Science (MLIS/MLS) with a data curation focus
- 5+ years of experience in data librarianship
- Hands-on experience running a data catalog or metadata management platform
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain relevant agency clearance
- Command of metadata standards, taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and data dictionaries
