HealthPartners is hiring a Principal Sales Operations Analyst. This position has primary accountability for designing, building, and maintaining desktop systems that support HealthPartners’ external broker incentive programs, including broker bonus programs, Field Marketing Organization (FMO) override programs, and sales incentive initiatives. The role ensures coordinated program execution, performs regular audit sampling, and provides accurate reporting on results, while leveraging data to evaluate processes and maintain a high standard of accuracy, integrity, and compliance with contractual obligations. In addition, the position delivers insights and recommendations related to distribution channel use, strategy, and performance.

Acting as a project coordinator and business owner, particularly when serving in place of the Director or Manager, this role serves as a mentor and subject-matter resource to departmental staff on process and technology efforts, as needed. The position supports multiple service areas, including North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin.

This role is responsible for the administration and reporting of the HealthPartners Agency Rewards Program (HARP), the Field Marketing Organization (FMO) Overrides Program, and the Small Group Tiering Process. These external broker incentive programs require precise administration and reporting to ensure HealthPartners meets its contractual payment obligations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Seven years or more experience in a healthcare and/or sales setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the role of brokers in the distribution and service of health products.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and tight timelines.
  • Collaborative work orientation and collegial working relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, customer service environment.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Execution of a non-competition agreement upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of HealthPartners’ and affiliate company operations.
  • Advance degree in business or related field and/or industry recognized certifications
  • Previous experience working with the brokerage community.
  • Prior experience in team environment.
  • Prior health insurance and/or sales experience.
  • Experience in a trainer role, formally supervision of staff, or project lead/coaching.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access and Visual Basic.

Hours/Location

  • M-F; core business hours
  • This is a hybrid position, with a preference for local candidates to support occasional onsite meetings and collaborative work sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Private Health Solutions Team, Individual & Senior Sales Team, Public Sector Health Solutions Team, HPUPH Health Solutions Team, NE Wisconsin Sales Team, Special Government Accounts, and the National Accounts Health Solutions Team to facilitate documentation, calculation payment and reporting of sales incentives and sales awards.
  • Works closely with the Private Health Solutions Team, HPUPH Health Solutions Team, NE Wisconsin Sales Team, and the Broker Administration team to facilitate documentation, calculation, payment, and reporting of broker bonus, and FMO overrides including (but not limited to): HealthPartners Collaborative Solutions Partner Program (CSP), HealthPartners Agency Awards Program (HARP), FMO Overrides
  • Provide monthly Cache manual adjustment reports to Broker Administration Team to enter payment adjustments and audits Cache manual adjustment quarterly.
  • Audits Cache commission/service fee payments bi-monthly.
  • Partners with sales in the Scope of Appointment (SOA) quarterly audits.
  • Create, build tracking and sampling methodology, and administer other identified areas of audit interest, including monthly SOC 2 Audit on Broker Portal Super Admin Security Activities.
  • Processes 5500 reporting requests.
  • Guide and inform management on best practices regarding incentive and bonus plans.
  • Develop and deploy with management best practices for auditing performance results and records retention.
  • Create and maintain analytical forecasting models for budgeting, accrual, and payout purposes in support of both sales incentives and bonus plans.
  • Design, develop, and/or maintain desktop systems that disrupt material funds based on activities and/or performance i.e., override payment systems driven off base service fee payments.
  • Function as an internal BSA to provide business/system requirements and partner with the IT project teams to deliver the technical solutions, including business/technical requirement reviews and sign-off, enhancement prioritization, user acceptance testing, production deployment signoffs, and post-production checkouts.
  • Provide additional insights into the Broker distribution channel by taking large quantities of data and putting it into actionable reports and metrics, including Medicare Certifications and Broker Licensing reports for MN/Western WI region and CARS Agency Agreement (Standard vs. Limited) maintenance.
  • Follows HealthPartners’ procedures, documents, reports progress as directed, and supplies team with information necessary to function properly.
  • Maintains and improves broker relationships.
  • Works with the Private Health Solutions Team, Individual & Senior Sales Team, Public Sector Health Solutions Team, HPUPH Health Solutions Team, NE Wisconsin Sales Team, Special Government Accounts, and the National Accounts Health Solutions Team to coordinate handling of critical issues.
  • Coordinates decisions regarding broker administration with areas of expertise to include (but not limited to): Accounts Payable, Finance, Legal, IS & T, Sales & Marketing
  • Will be responsible for managing small to mid-sized projects.
  • Provides back-up support for the Manager and Director.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
