Position Summary:

The Chief Revenue Officer (“CRO”) reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer will focus on developing and executing strategies to drive revenue growth and attract high profile events. The CRO will serve as a key member of the leadership team. In line with the Center’s vision, mission and core values the CRO holds a pivotal responsibility of shaping crucial decisions and guiding strategies across marketing, sales, and developing the guest experience. This leadership role is central to driving revenue and securing a stronger market presence of the Center. The CRO is instrumental in collaborating with the leadership team to create a unified approach to driving revenue generation, and the organization’s comprehensive growth strategy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop sales, marketing and revenue strategies.
  • Devise and implement commercial strategies aligned with organizational objectives, revenue growth and financial targets.
  • Develop strategies to capture new lines of revenue on ancillary services.
  • Evaluate potential opportunities to drive revenue on existing in-house services, such as Audio Visual.
  • Collaborate with food and beverage partners to identify opportunities to grow premium offerings for target clients, focused on driving revenues on select events.
  • Collaborate with the SVP of Facilities to identify under-utilized spaces within the Center and create new opportunities to maximize and deliver a higher return on investment (ROI).
  • Constantly review all lines of revenue to ensure the asset (the Center) is optimizing its full potential.
  • Research, design and build a global partnership program focused on driving revenue through digital signage.
  • Research, design and implement new marketing opportunities through banner and outdoor advertising, enhancing the brand and creating awareness for new opportunities.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Build and lead high performing Sales, Marketing and Customer Engagement teams, focused on driving revenue and guest experience.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop cross functional plans to drive revenue
  • Participate actively in professional societies related to hospitality, sales, and marketing.
  • Establish high visibility within the business community to create partnerships and growth.
  • Provides inspiration, leadership and empowers others to ensure that the objectives of the Center are achieved.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the senior leadership team at the Center.

Sales and Marketing:

  • Identify opportunities to drive revenue, yield current occupancy of dates, and space to optimize the overall performance of the Center.
  • Collaborate with NYC Tourism and stakeholders to ensure the development and execution of effective growth strategies, through account acquisition, targeted marketing campaigns focused on driving new revenue.
  • Industry Engagement with National Trade Associations, Industry Associations, Tradeshow organizers, Corporations and Social organizations for food and beverage events.
  • Identify the right opportunities to build new industry partnerships with organizations such as PCMA, ASAE, MPI, SISO, IAEE, GL Events, ICCA etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial measurements and forecasting using data from CRM, STR and others with a sense of market performance, historical performance and budget.
  • Financial management, reporting and analysis by overseeing the creation and execution of the sales and marketing annual budget.
  • Performance measurement and optimization, by establishing benchmarks, KPI’s ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Create a comprehensive reporting function for tracking revenue and commercial operations, designed to measure and analyze performance.
  • Market analysis and adaptation to monitor marketing trends to seize opportunities and respond to competitive activities effectively.
  • Oversee the CRM to ensure proper sales administration, effective data capture and integration, enhancing client experience, exhibitor experience and attendee experience.
  • Work with the leadership team to innovate and introduce new products, services and guest experience, through research and analyzing profitability.
  • Business optimization, developing strategies maximizing pricing components for sales opportunities, enhancing market share, and benefiting the growth strategies of the Center.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Business, Marketing or a related field is required.
  • 15+ years’ experience in senior level management, leading large sales and marketing teams, preferable leading teams in Destination Marketing Organization (DMO), Convention Center or Large Convention Hotel.
  • Demonstrate success, building sales strategies, developing emerging markets and complex negotiations.
  • Experience building international MICE market.
  • Strong organizational, leadership and management skills are required. Must be able to lead a large team, think strategically and multitask in a high pace environment.
  • Demonstrated success in driving achievement of business goals through aligning people, processes, structure in a rapidly growing/dynamic market.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written are required).

Top Priorities:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of all lines and potential lines of revenue.
  • Understand the budget and revenue performance of the building and its assets.
  • Ongoing assessment of the Center current sales and marketing plans, deployment of strategies, research and data and make changes to achieve short and long-term revenue goals.
  • Develop strong and meaningful relationships with NYC Tourism, customers, hospitality leaders, partners, vendors, and NYC business community.

The salary range for this position is $ 275,000- $300,000. The salary offered will be dependent upon the candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
