Data Engineer – Analysis & Insights

Mattel is seeking a Data Engineer – Analysis & Insights to develop and maintain business intelligence solutions using tools such as Tableau, ThoughtSpot, and IBM Cognos Analytics to enable actionable insights, reporting and visualization for cross-functional analytics teams.

Requirements

• Design and develop robust data models and other business intelligence solutions using Tableau, ThoughtSpot, and IBM Cognos Analytics to support enterprise reporting and analytics needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements, translate them into actionable development plans, and ensure deliverables align with expectations.
• Design and build reports, interactive dashboards, and visualizations to help business users gain actionable insights.
• Partner with IT and business teams to deliver analytics projects and enhancements on time and within scope, following industry best practices.
• Work closely with data engineers and architects to ensure data pipelines and integrations support BI and reporting needs effectively.
• Create and execute test plans, validate data accuracy, and coordinate the roll-out of BI solutions to end users.
• Provide training, guidance, and support to end users on BI tools and best practices, acting as a subject matter expert for analytics solutions.
• Optimize reporting performance by improving the efficiency of queries, dashboards, and system configurations. Ensure scalability and efficiency of Mattel’s BI solutions for larger data sets.
• Conduct quality assurance (QA) checks and test BI tools, dashboards, and reports to ensure accuracy. Validate data against source systems to ensure consistency.
• Document all reports, processes, data models, and system configurations for reference and knowledge-sharing.
• Design BI solutions with appropriate access controls, ensuring data privacy and security.
