FinOps Engineer

Role Overview

The FinOps Engineer will be responsible for optimizing cloud financial operations across AWS, OCI, and other cloud platforms used within the insurance organization. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep understanding of cloud cost models, and hands-on experience with automation, reporting, governance, and cross-department collaboration.

What You Will Do

Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud spend across AWS, OCI, and hybrid environments. Implement cost-saving strategies such as rightsizing, reserved instances, autoscaling, and storage lifecycle policies. Develop automated cost dashboards and reports using tools like AWS Cost Explorer, OCI Cost Analysis, CloudHealth, or custom Python scripts.

Requirements

• Strong analytical skills
• Deep understanding of cloud cost models
• Hands-on experience with automation, reporting, governance, and cross-department collaboration
• Proficiency in Python for cost automation, API integrations, and anomaly detection
• Experience with multi-cloud cost management platforms (CloudHealth, Apptio, Flexera, Cloudability)
• Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements (audit trails, data residency, cost transparency)
• Experience implementing tagging standards, budgets, alerts, and chargeback models
